Day 10 !!!!

I had my first post op visit yesterday. They looked around. Stretched my already chapped lips. You know those cracks in the corner, yeah. . He stretched those and it reopened. Talk about pain. Then a resident (it's a teaching hospital) came in and put rubber bands on. After surgery the rubber bands were loose. I could eat with a spoon, open my mouth. Etc. at my post op appt the resident put on TIGHT rubber bands I could barely open. I broke down. I started crying and yelled at him "HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO EAT OR TAKE MY MEDICINE !" So he asked my surgeon if he can make them looser. He said yeah. I had one on both sides (at first it was a box) and 2 in the front. It was still tight, but better than it was. Later that night around 3am, i cut the front rubber bands off. it was just too much. That day i took pain meds, maybe 3. but timely spaced out. on an empty stomach. so when i finally ate the meds start working fast. it felt like i was gonna pass out ! i couldnt sleep. every time i dozed off, i was dreaming. . and it felt SO real. felt like i was really moving doing things. (icing my face.picking up things) then id jump and wake up and notice i was never moving. so scary !!!! Today (day 10) was a good day. No pain ! Didn't take any pain meds. Hopefully ill NEVER have to take anymore. Just waiting for swelling to go down. Hopefully by Christmas ill be okay. Ill be 20 days post op. I have an appt on Friday with surgeon. Ill update then.

Going on day 3

Well had surgery on the 5th. Do I count day that as day one ??? Anyway. They admitted me into the hospital. I was just waiting around. The hardest part for me was the iv. So I thought lol. I stayed overnight at the hospital. It was okay. They gave me medicine that really helped me out. But when I left that prescription wasnt in there. So i was taking other pain meds. that was a bad night. So today while I was in pain I had took different pain meds while my mom went back up to ohsu hospital to get the script that actually helped me. Then had to go all the way to Safeway to get it filled. After I got that medicine, I was sleep throughout the day. Oh on night one I only slept 2 hours. My mom came in my room like 20-30 times. Now going on day 3. I have it somewhat under control. Sorry this post is all over the place. I've just been icing my face. Taking hot showers so the steam could decongest me. And using a Vicks humidifier. Guess ill take some pains meds. Bye

So I've got most of my supplies that will be needed for surgery. My surgery is on Wednesday (dec.5th.2012) I noticed that other people that are having jaw surgery posted their supply list and it has REALLY helped me out to the point where I went to people blog supply list and got some of the same items. The place I shopped at was Walmart super center.

T- 29 days !!!

Whelp I'm in my 20's now. . Can't wait until this day comes (dec 5th 2012) I'm glad I'm having surgery AFTER thanksgiving. That means I can gain some weight before the liquid diet comes. Well I'm just on a countdown now so I probably won't update this until after surgery. Wish me luck. :)

My top lip barely shows in pics, but my bottom lip does a lot. When I smile my jaw shifts to one side. Even in these pics I tried to hide it. I will post pics of before braces, in braces, and my bite post op when I can show my teeth.

34 more days. :)

I'm so excited ! Started my countdown from day 50, now I'm down to 34. Since days have been getting closer, I've been getting more and more nervous. I can't pull out of it now, way too close ! Plus I want to fix my bite. I still haven't told anybody. Only people that know is my mom of course and one of my sisters. I feel as though since I got bullied for it, and since that's the only thing some ppl notice when they see me that people aren't gonna notice me or would be super shocked but it is what it is. Do you guys think I should start getting supplies now ? And what's the BEST "food" items to keep weight on ? I guess I should go buy a blender soon lol. I honestly can't wait until I'm on the other side !

Ortho appt.
When I went to my appt last week. She took a lot of impressions to send to my surgeon. She had her assistant do it and she kept having to do it over. I was scared to do impressions with my braces on. I thought they were gonna come off lol. Some of my hooks were sliding so she took my wire out to fix them. Then, I got to brush my teeth !!! I felt so free. Lol. My wire is really hard to take out & put it. Has anyone else had a problem with that ? Whelp I'm starting to ramble so ill keep you guys updated.

I got my SURGERY DATE !!!

I'm soooo excited ! I went and saw my surgeon today. He did impressions, X-rays and talked to me a lot about what will happen. I also have an appt with my ortho on Halloween for more impressions. That'll be the last time I see her until my surgery. After all the things the surgeon needed was done, I GOT MY SURGERY DATE !!!!!! It will be on DEC.5TH.2012 :) that's only like 7 weeks away. I'm on a countdown and need to start stacking up on EVERYTHING I will need.

Over the few months I've been away from blogging. . I've just been having regular appointments with my ortho. As the months passed, she put me on stronger and stronger wire to lead up to my surgery. Well good news, on the 19th of September. . She put me in my SURGICAL WIRE & SURGICAL HOOKS !!!!! I haven't saw my surgeon in months but him and my ortho have been keeping in touch. I have a surgeon appt on oct 15th. He emailed my ortho saying they were gonna put my pics in a epic thing. Schedule a surgery date and to see if I have any date in mind. Psshh I would get surgery tomorrow if I could lol. Can't wait until my surgeon appt. I also have an ortho appt on HALLOWEEN ! So she can check my hooks & wires. I want my surgery in the beginning of November so by New Years ill be hot.com !!! Lol. I haven't told any friends about my surgery, I'm kind of embarrassed. "/ guess it'll be a New Years surprise. Hopefully ill be rubber band free by then ! Lol. oh and MY INSURANCE COVERED MY SURGERY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would only have to pay about $1200 out of pocket. That's better than $30,000. Lol.

Here's my bite. & profile. I have an open bite, cross bite, and underbite. The bottom middle pic is the camera STRAIGHT ON my face. But it doesn't look like it because my alignment is so off. "/ it gets worse before it gets better.

Consultation

So I had a consultation on april 27th at OHSU. All he did was ask me questions and took lots of pics He basically told me when my orthodontist feel my teeth are right then I can get the surgery. I have an ortho appt on may 23rd. She's going to reshape my incisors and put brackets on the 4 teeth she left out. Also going to tighten and put in a thicker wire. My gap closed the first month. And my teeth are basically straight now. On my next ortho appt (may 23rd) after she reshape my teeth, it would be 3 months with braces. She said it should be 6 months in braces before and 6 months after. But my teeth moved so fast I'm hoping it's sooner. Been waiting for this surgery for years. He's also getting it confirmed with my insurance company to see if they can cover the surgery. PRAYIBG that they will. He also told me I'm gonna need DOUBLE jaw surgery ! YIKES !!! At first he said single. But I'll update you guys soon. Well in a few weeks on may 23rd. I'll also post pics a few days after that date. :) hope you enjoy my blog

Wisdom teeth removal !!!

Okay. . . Feb 22nd my orthodontist told me I need to get my wisdom teeth removed. I was dreading this ! I made and appt and they told me it would be for today, march 22nd. My mom took off a day of work so she can help me out. I get to the office sign papers. Etc. they asked if I wanted laughing gas, HECK YEAH !!! They gave me shots. And I was a little loopy. I didn't even have one of those wonderful dreams. Lol. I was all numbed up. They started ! I felt a little pressure. The first one was out in like 2 mins. The second was out less than 4. I only got the bottom 2 out. (I won't ever have any top ones) great !!! So it's not hurting but I'm DREADING the aftermath. :( I have a surgeon consultation on April 2nd ! I promise to update you all on that day. I'll post pics soon. Even though it's quite embarrassing ! "/ hopefully he says I can have surgery in 5 months since I had the braces on for a month already. Lol.

History lesson of my underbite.

Well to start this off, I'm 18 years of age as of now. I'll be 19 next month on April 28th. I've known that I needed this surgery since I was about 15. I've had braces once before, but wasn't really going for the surgery. I didn't wear my retainer so my teeth shifted back. But the dentist said even if I did wear it, it would of did the same because part of my gum was too far down in my gap. So here I am now got braces AGAIN (feb,22nd,2012) I've been in braces for a month and my gap is already closing. MY JAW For years I've been talked about. I even deleted my Facebook. I avoid as many pics as possible. Called names and I FINALLY told my mom I want the surgery. So we went to our dentist and told them. She said I can most likely have it 6 months from now ! Yaaaaaay ! I have an underbite,crossbite,and open bite. OMG ! Imagine that. I'll update you guys later.
